B2P (buy to play) is far superior.
MMO report
Start at 12:45 and pay attention to this model. It's worth considering.

I don't like the MMO report, how about a TLDW version?
ArenaNet has a "Buy to Play" method, where you buy the box and play without subscriptions as long as you like. Their pholosophy is that if they're doing their job and creating great expansions people will buy them. If not, people won't and it's their own fault. They also have microtransactions that strictly won't affect gameplay at all. There's nothing you can or will buy that will ever make you more powerful than the next guy. The model provided them with more than enough income from Guild Wars to be able to spend the past five or six years working on Guild Wars 2, which will keep the same payment method.

Oh right, same as Guild Wars 1 then. Its funny that they(or you, not sure) invented a new term for what's basically been the standard way to sell video game content since like forever:)
Well, it needed something catchy to differentiate it from either subscription or f2p.
